About Southtown Tile Contractor

A San Antonio tile crew that takes the installation as seriously as the material selection.

Who We Are

Southtown Tile Contractor operates out of the SW Loop 410 area of San Antonio. Our small crew focuses on tile installation for residential homeowners and commercial property owners across the northwest and northeast sides of the city, including Leon Valley, Castle Hills, and Alamo Heights.

Tile work is one of those trades where the difference between a good job and a bad one is mostly invisible until years later. We spend time on the parts homeowners rarely see: flattening the subfloor to within manufacturer tolerances, applying the right uncoupling membrane over wood subfloors, back-buttering large-format tiles so the coverage percentage meets industry standards. These steps add time. We do them anyway.

What We Install

Our work covers ceramic and porcelain floor tile, natural stone, encaustic cement tile, large-format slabs, mosaic sheets, and specialty formats like hexagon and subway tile. For walls and wet areas, we work with the same material range and add waterproofing to the scope. Shower pans, tub surrounds, and full bathroom tile jobs are a significant part of what we do.

Commercial projects require tighter scheduling and sometimes off-hours work to avoid disrupting a business. We have handled retail floors, salon spaces, restaurant prep areas, and office lobbies. Each setting has its own demands for grout type, tile format, and layout tolerance.

How We Work

Every job starts with a site visit. We look at the substrate, measure the space, discuss the tile the homeowner or contractor has in mind, and talk through layout options. We give a written estimate before any work begins. When the job is done, we walk through the finished space together before we leave.

We work with homeowners directly and also with general contractors who need a reliable tile sub for larger remodels. Either way, the standard of work is the same.

Substrate First

Every tile failure we have ever seen traces back to what was underneath. We get that part right before the first tile is set.

Tight Tolerances

Lippage, out-of-square layouts, and uneven grout joints are avoidable. We use the tools and time needed to avoid them.

Clear Communication

You know the timeline, the scope, and the cost before we start. If something changes mid-job, we tell you immediately.

Locally Focused

We work in the communities closest to us: Leon Valley, Castle Hills, and Alamo Heights. Short drive times mean we show up on schedule.
