The craftsmanship behind this Alamo Heights install
Book-matched Calacatta porcelain foyer with brass trim transitions. Precision cuts throughout.
This install came together in the kind of residential context that defines Alamo Heights. We showed up with the right tooling for the job, kept the site clean through the install, and left the owner with a surface built to the specs we quoted — not corners cut to save a half-day.
The precision this install required
Luxury installs are judged by details that casual eyes miss — are the grout joints perfectly uniform, do the pattern elements line up across the room, are the mitered edges clean, does the installed field match the design drawing. We work slower on these jobs intentionally. Measure three times, cut once, dry-fit before setting, grout only when every tile is where it belongs.
Material sourcing and matching
High-end tile often has visible variation batch to batch. We ordered all material from a single production run, kept 10% overage on site in case of damage, and labeled remaining tiles so future repairs can match the original batch exactly. The owner has a documented material spec in case anything needs to be matched years from now.
