Inside this Castle Hills bathroom build
Floor-to-ceiling marble-look porcelain, heated floor system, and matching shower niche.
This install came together in the kind of residential context that defines Castle Hills. We showed up with the right tooling for the job, kept the site clean through the install, and left the owner with a surface built to the specs we quoted — not corners cut to save a half-day.
Shower waterproofing we used
Behind the tile sits a liquid-applied waterproofing membrane, rolled on in two coats and allowed to fully cure before any tile went up. This is more expensive than sheet membrane but handles complex geometry — the corners, the shower niche, the drain flange — without seams that can fail years down the line. The owner gets a shower that stays dry inside the walls, not just on the tile face.
Thinking about grout and sealing
We used a polymer-modified cement grout in the main field and an epoxy grout at the shower floor and curb — the two spots that see the most water and the most chemical exposure from cleaning products. The whole install got a penetrating sealer after grout cure, and we leave the owner with a short maintenance sheet telling them when to re-seal.
